• We Save You Money - The cost of our plans can save up to 50% of new plans designed by a traditional architect from scratch.  Because our plans originate from a completed project, the costs are already known, giving you complete control of the design budget. Because our fee structure is fixed we are motivated to find ways to design a cost effective building to construct.
• We Save You Time - Our plans are ready to be implemented in weeks, not months. Because there are existing designs awaiting only your modifications and revisions, if necessary, your Church will be finished in less time than it would take for custom designs.
• We Offer Quality - Licensed professional architects and engineers have designed our building plans and construction drawings.  Recognizing that each Church has different congregational needs, we will gladly revise our plans, often at no additional charge.  Revisions required to pull permits in accordance with local building code are free.

In our 25 years of experience we have found that a large majority of plans “sealed” by a licensed architect never get built!!  This breaks our hearts at CDS and we work hard to reduce this percentage.

Why is a large majority of “sealed” church plans not built?

A primary reason “sealed” plans are never constructed is because a proper development process specific to churches is not followed.  Church pastors and leaders are great at vision casting and creating excitement around a vision.  This vision is then taken to a design firm that enables the vision through drawings and renderings, with not enough attention paid to cost or the church’s resource plan.  Most design firms are paid based on a percentage of the construction cost, so cost effective design where function has equal parity with form is not properly prioritized.  This also creates an inherent conflict of interest that CDS does not have to manage since we work from a fixed fee based on square footage.

At CDS, we first speak to the church leadership to understand the vision, the ministry and the community programs in which the church wants to be involved. We review the stewardship/resource history and future growth plans.  We review the attendance records, the local market statistics and the local construction costs.

In most cases, the prices of our construction drawings are less than HALF of custom plans.  What’s more, we know our plans are cost effective and can be built as drawn because we have actually provided plans for our designs multiple times and have over 400 successfully completed projects.
